Custodies may struggle against hoard armies, but they very much make it very, very difficult with that 2+ armor save. I run Tyranids and my friend runs Custodes and it usually devolves into me throwing everything I have at him and getting lucky until my big bugs manage to get into range to hit like a truck if they survive getting into melee range.

On a serious note tho, for the longest time I thought the skaven were in Warhammer 40k, in the shadows, I only recently found out they didn’t exist at all anywhere…but…the horned rat still does? (I think) which is a shame, like you said I could totally see a bunch of clanrats getting their hands on some bolters and causing hell. Or a weapons team of heavy meltas, giant warpstone bells with rats carrying lasguns all over it, they could just as easily steal ships belonging to the empire or other factions and paint there symbol all over it, maybe add some more warp lightning guns and etc…maybe in the future
